Say Yes
8 - 12 June 2010
Preview: Tuesday 8th June, 6 - 9 pm
With this work my interest is in exploring the possibilities of the contemporary photographic medium without any preconceived limit to its expressiveness. I have set out to see what the new technology is able to offer aesthetically, perhaps even wants to achieve, when liberated from any need to conform to the usual expectations of veracity.
As this is a self-imposed programme of delimitation, of lightness, and of abandonment, the choice of the sexual other as immediate subject feels right. Fixing this search for the fresh within an enquiry so traditional also offers an anchor to the formal exploration. And conversely, brings a new look at an old compulsion.
Isnt photography always about looking out in order to look within?
