April 2013 / Bernar Venet stamps his mark in French History

French postal service, La Poste has issued a commemorative stamp of Bernar Venet's 85.8° Arc x 16, a 22-meter tall Vertical Arcs sculpture, which was exhibited at the Château de Versailles in 2011.

Venet has upcoming exhibitions in Marseille; one at Les jardins du Palais du Pharo (15 March – 2 May) and two at Fondation Regards de Provence (June 28 - October 6, 2013); in Michigan at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park (5/ 29 October 2012 - October 2013) and during the upcoming Venice Biennale will exhibit Bernar Venet: Paintings. Homage to Al Khwarizmi at Abbazia San Gregorio in Venice. (May 31 - November 24, 2013). Last month the Institut Valencia d'Art Modern (IVAM) announced Bernar Venet as the recipient of the 2013 Julio González International Prize.

Auckland is this year’s host of the upcoming International Sculpture Symposium and gallery artist Bernar Venet is a keynote speaker. Venet at Gibbs farm

Gallery artist Bernar Venet has recently been announced as the winner of the 2013 Julio Gonzalez Prize. Awarded by the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, Spain, previous winners have included Pierre Soulages and Cy Twombly.

Venet will also now be included in future editions of the Larousse Dictionary cementing his significant contribution to visual arts. Following his exhibition in at our Lorne St Gallery in March Venet currently has solo shows in Hong Kong and another in Texas.

Bernar Venet is currently exhibiting in three exhibitions worldwide: Sculpture Garden At Oyster Creek, McClain Gallery, Texas; Bernar Venet, Musarnok Kunsthalle, Budapest, and in Tour de France, Frost Musuem, Miami.

AUGUST 2011 / Bernar Venet - new images of exhibition at Palace of Versailles

See new images of here gallery Artist Bernar Venet's exhibition at the famous French Palace of Versailles. Following exhibitions by Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami, Venet is the most recent artist to be invited by Le Chateau de Versailles. Seven sculptures have been installed in the extensive gardens and entrance of the palace. 1 June - 1 November 2011.


 

July 2010 / French President Nicolas Sarkozy unveils major work by gallery artist Bernar Venet

President Nicolas Sarkozy unveiled a major new work by Bernar Venet last month. Over 30 meters tall the sculpture is the tallest public artwork in France and is now permanently installed in Jardin Sulzer on the Promenade des Anglais. The nine vertical beams represent the nine valleys of the county of Nice.

March 2009 I Bernar Venet at Venice Biennale
Congratulations to Bernar Venet who will be exhibiting three large sculptures at the 2009 Venice Biennale from June 7 - November 22. Venet will exhibit in the Arsenale which features exhibitions organized by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Affairs. This year's Venice Biennale Director, Daniel Birnbaum, has entitled the show Making Worlds, and says "a work of art is more than an object, more than a commodity. It represents a vision of the world, and if taken seriously it can be seen as a way of worldmaking".




Sotheby’s present Bernar Venet Sculpture Exhibition
For the first time
Sotheby’s is presenting an exhibition of a solo artist. Approximately twenty five Bernar Venet sculptures are on show in the lush grounds of the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Florida. The monumental sculptures will showcase the artist’s work of the last two decades, highlighting some of his most distinctive themes.

Bernar Venet at the National Museum of Contemporary Art
Currently on show in South Korea is a retrospective survey of works by gallery artist, Bernar Venet. Bernar Venet: A Retrospective 1961 - 2007 runs until July 1st at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul and features works that span an exceptional career and which demonstrate the artist's extraordinary dexterity among a variety of genres that include sculpture, painting, photography, sound and performance.
