Paul Dibble's maquette works offer an intimacy not seen in his larger pieces.  As well as referencing the human figure, Dibble has long drawn inspiration from the symbols and objects of Maori and Pacific Island cultures - feathers, fish, koru, tattoo designs and archaeological relics.  These works with their soft-geometric modernist aesthetic, follow Dibble’s practice of combining Pacific culture and European art history to create a hybrid of both.
