Darryn George secures Deutsche Bank commission
Darryn George has been successful in securing a major commission for Deutsche Bank New Zealand. George’s artwork was selected among four designs proposed to adorn a 16 metre long wall made of ‘smart glass’ located in Deutsche Bank’s Wyndam St premises. George’s design will exploit the unique properties of the glass which is charged with an electrical current. When the current is disabled the glass becomes opaque thus concealing certain aspects of the design. When activated the glass becomes fully transparent revealing a full 16 metre long art work. It is proposed that the commission will be completed by mid June 2007.
